Authenticated command execution via unsanitized shell parameters

OS command injection in Rapid7 InsightConnect RPM Plugin before 1.0.2 on Linux allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The plugin inserts the repo, key, or name parameter into shell command construction without sufficient input sanitization, allowing shell metacharacters to alter the invoked command. A highly privileged InsightConnect user can trigger the affected action over the network, gaining command execution inside the Linux plugin environment and access to its available data and privileges.
