File corruption via unchecked archive filename
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Path traversal in Rapid7 InsightConnect Compression Plugin before 2.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt files on Linux. The create_archive function uses a crafted filename as an output path without keeping the write inside the intended archive directory. High-privilege access and a crafted filename are required; the attacker cannot control the written content, limiting impact to corruption.
