Unauthenticated shortcode execution via translated email content
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Shortcode injection in Translate WordPress with GTranslate before 5.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute registered shortcodes. The email-translation path expands outgoing message content without first removing attacker-supplied shortcode syntax. Exploitation requires the non-default Translate emails option, and the resulting effect depends on the capabilities of shortcodes registered on the site.
