Unauthenticated site takeover via unchecked REST route
Published Sep 19, 2026 · Updated Sep 19, 2026
Missing authorization in Botiga Pro before 1.6.5 allows remote attackers to take over WordPress sites through a REST route. A Templates Builder REST route accepts unauthenticated requests and writes attacker-controlled values to arbitrary WordPress options, stores site-wide front-end scripts, or trashes posts. No account or user interaction is required, and the exposed operations permit privilege escalation, persistent script execution, content deletion, and full site takeover.
