AWS resource access via overprivileged OIDC role
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Incorrect privilege assignment in MockNest Serverless 0.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain broad AWS deployment privileges. The github-oidc-role.yaml template trusts multiple GitHub branch subjects with StringLike and attaches PowerUserAccess to the OIDC role. Control of an accepted GitHub Actions identity is required; the role permits reading, changing, or interrupting resources in the deployment account.
