CVE-2026-86512Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Protected data disclosure via unrestricted source paths

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026

Improper access control in Java Json Tools json-patch 1.0 through 1.13 allows remote authenticated users to disclose protected data. CopyOperation.apply and MoveOperation.apply resolve a caller-controlled from pointer against the entire JSON document, then transfer the resolved value without checking read authorization. Exposure requires an application with field-level access controls to accept user-supplied JSON Patch operations; protected values can then be placed in readable fields.
