Stored XSS via comment-author URL attribute
Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Apache Roller 6.1.5 allows remote attackers to execute script in a moderator's browser through a crafted comment-author URL. The comment-management page in Comments.jsp places the stored URL inside a single-quoted href attribute, allowing crafted input to break out of that attribute. A weblog must permit comments, and a moderator or global administrator must review the submitted comment; the resulting script runs in that reviewer's session.
