Host code execution via unchecked Dev Container build
Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Code execution in JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA before 2026.2.2 allows context-dependent attackers to run code on the host via a Dev Container build. The Dev Container build path omits project-trust confirmation before consuming the untrusted project's devcontainer.json instructions. Exploitation requires a user to open an untrusted project and start its Dev Container build, after which attacker-controlled code runs on the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
