Project Admin escalation via missing escalation check
Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in JetBrains YouTrack before 2026.1.14047 allows remote authenticated users to grant themselves Project Admin. The project role-assignment path fails to enforce an escalation check when processing a user who has project update permission. That permission is required; exploitation adds Project Admin access, exposing restricted project administration and associated data.
