Unauthenticated VCS change injection via blank webhook secret
Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in JetBrains YouTrack before 2026.2.18634 allows remote attackers to submit generic VCS webhook payloads. The generic VCS webhook handler treats an empty configured secret as successful authentication instead of rejecting the request. An inbound-reachable generic VCS integration with a blank secret is required; accepted payloads can attach fabricated commits to referenced issues.
