Unauthenticated account takeover via unverified email assertion
Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Improper authentication in JetBrains YouTrack Helpdesk before 2025.3.161254 or 2026.1.14042 allows remote attackers to take over accounts. The Helpdesk identity flow accepts a self-asserted email address without verifying control before associating the request with an account. No authentication or user interaction is required, and takeover grants the permissions of the targeted account.
