CVE-2026-86474Network attack vector

Update interception via missing TLS certificate validation

Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026

Improper certificate validation in Fermax VEO WiFi firmware before 01.48.001 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept updates. The firmware downloader accepts the TLS peer without validating its certificate, so a network-positioned system can impersonate the update service. Exploitation requires control of the update traffic path during a firmware download and permits interception or substitution of update-channel data.
