Authenticated file upload via bypassable type validation
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
File upload in FV Flowplayer Video Player 7.5.54.7212 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write executable files. The check_mimetype function writes attacker-supplied remote content with bypassable extension validation, no MIME check, and no WordPress upload helper. Subscriber-level access requires the 'profile videos on bio' option to expose the required nonce; without it, users below Editor cannot obtain that nonce, and code execution depends on the uploaded file being executable.
