CVE-2026-86440Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsafe dashboard widget URLs

Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Stored XSS in the Dashboard Button widget in MISP 2.5.45 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a crafted URL. The renderer treated a URL as safe when it appeared relative or its PHP-parsed hostname matched the MISP host, letting javascript: and backslash authority forms reach an anchor href. An authenticated user must store the widget configuration and another user must interact with it, enabling script execution in the viewer's session or navigation to an attacker-controlled origin.
