Unauthenticated LDAP outage via worker-thread pool exhaustion
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Denial of service in 389-ds-base on Red Hat Directory Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows remote attackers to stall LDAP service via partial messages. A completed LDAP operation followed by an incomplete LDAPMessage requeues the connection before its result is flushed; another worker waits for the I/O timeout while holding the connection mutex. With access to the LDAP listener, attackers can occupy the configured worker pool and prevent both anonymous and authenticated clients from receiving service while the connections remain open.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
