CVE-2026-8632

Privilege escalation via Is_Process_Running command injection

Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026

OS command injection in HP Linux Imaging and Printing before 3.26.4 allows local users to execute arbitrary code and elevate privileges. The Is_Process_Running() function constructs an operating system command without neutralizing special elements in its input. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and no user interaction, and successful injection can run code with elevated privileges.
