CVE-2026-86304Network attack vector

Authentication bypass via unanchored SAML certificate

Published Sep 6, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

SAML authentication bypass in MojoX::Authentication before 0.006 allows remote attackers to impersonate any NameID via a forged response. The parse_assertion routine constructs Net::SAML2::Binding::POST without a trust anchor, causing unencrypted assertion signatures to be checked against the response-supplied certificate. An attacker must initiate a SAML login and satisfy the audience, InResponseTo, and timestamp checks, but needs no trusted signing key.
