TLS protections weakened by truncated OpenSSL option flags
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Insecure defaults in Apache Tomcat Native 1.3.0 through 1.3.8 and 2.0.0 through 2.0.15 allow remote attackers to weaken TLS protections. The SSL and SSLContext option bridges accept 32-bit Java integers, truncating OpenSSL 3 option masks and leaving extended insecure defaults enabled. Exposure requires Tomcat to load Native with OpenSSL for TLS; enabled renegotiation and weakened handshake safeguards reduce connection security.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
