Privilege escalation via dot-keyed super flag
Published Sep 5, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in GetGrav Grav API Plugin before 1.0.20 allows remote authenticated users to create super-admin accounts. InvitationsController.stripSuperFlags removes nested super flags but leaves dot-keyed api.super entries in an invitation access payload. A manager with api.access and api.users.write can persist that flag, accept the invitation publicly, and receive a JWT granting full site control.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
