Super-admin takeover via direct-access-only target guards
Published Sep 5, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Incorrect authorization in GetGrav Grav API Plugin before 1.0.20 allows remote authenticated users to take over super-admin accounts. UsersController target guards inspect the account's own access map instead of resolving effective permissions inherited from groups. Exploitation requires api.access and api.users.write plus a victim whose super authority comes only from group membership, yielding full administrative control.
