Unauthenticated password guessing via bot cache exclusion
Published Sep 5, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Improper rate limiting in WWBN AVideo 29.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to make unlimited password guesses through the API. API::checkRateLimit stores per-IP attempt counters through ObjectYPT::setCacheGlobal, but the cache write rejects bot User-Agent clients, so their counters never advance. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted bot header defeats limits for eight operations, including account and video-password checks.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
