CVE-2026-86109Network attack vector

Unauthorized software installation via unrestricted signature digest

Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026

Improper signature verification in Arista VeloCloud SD-WAN Edge allows remote authenticated users to install unauthorized software. The update workflow accepts bundles whose signatures use an unrestricted digest algorithm instead of limiting verification to approved algorithms. Exploitation requires control of update packages or metadata through a compromised Orchestrator or high-privilege Edge access, enabling code installation with Edge-level impact.
