Command execution via DRDA stack buffer overflow
Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in IBM Db2 11.5.0 through 11.5.9 and 12.1.0 through 12.1.5 allows attackers to execute commands on Db2 clients. The federated-server DRDA client path copies server-controlled data into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length. Exploitation requires control or impersonation of a DRDA server endpoint and grants command execution in the affected Db2 client context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=11.5.0 <=11.5.9
