Authenticated code execution via sanitizer rebinding
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Code injection in n8n before 1.123.76, 2.0.0 through 2.37.6, and 2.38.0 through 2.38.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. PrototypeSanitizer in packages/workflow/src/expression-sandboxing.ts resolves its sanitizer through dynamically scoped this and accepts the reserved __sanitize class-member name, allowing a crafted class field to rebind the sanitizer and reach the Function constructor. Workflow-create or workflow-edit access is required; backend execution runs in the n8n process, while editor preview can execute JavaScript in the session of a user who opens the workflow.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
