Stored script execution via unsanitized answer rendering
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Stored XSS in LightRAG WebUI before 1.5.5 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript when a user retrieves an ingested document. ChatMessage.tsx passes answer and thinking content through react-markdown with rehypeRaw and HTML enabled but without sanitization; its Mermaid path also inserts loose-mode SVG through innerHTML. An attacker must add content and induce later retrieval, after which code runs in the WebUI origin and can read the API token or perform API actions as the victim.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
