SQL execution via improperly quoted serialized objects
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
SQL injection in MariaDB Server SHOW output and dumps allows remote authenticated users to inject SQL through crafted objects. SHOW CREATE SERVER, SHOW CREATE USER, and mariadb-dump serialize attacker-controlled identifiers or values without consistent quoting, turning object data into executable statements. Exploitation requires privileges to create a relevant object, its inclusion in generated output, and subsequent application of that output; injected SQL executes under the importing account's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
