Authenticated root command execution via unsanitized parameter
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Command injection in Puppet Enterprise allows remote authenticated users with administrative privileges to execute arbitrary commands as root. An undisclosed parameter is passed into a shell execution context without sufficient sanitization, allowing crafted values to become shell syntax. Exploitation requires Puppet administrative privileges on an affected 2023.8.0 through 2023.8.10 or 2025.0.0 through 2025.11.2 deployment and results in full host compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
