Data disclosure via default cleartext S3 transport
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Cleartext S3 transport in Progress MarkLogic Server allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read transmitted data or credentials. In affected 11.x and 12.x releases, the group-level S3 protocol setting defaults to HTTP, sending traffic without transport encryption. Exploitation requires an active cleartext S3 connection and access to its network path; the disclosed consequence is interception, not server modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
