Remote command execution via unsafe shell construction
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
OS command injection in Rapid7 InsightConnect AWK Plugin before 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on Linux. The process_string action constructs a shell command from the text or expression parameter without neutralizing command syntax before the processing pipeline executes it. Exploitation requires a workflow path that supplies attacker-controlled input; injected commands run with the plugin container's privileges and can access its data or interrupt its service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
