CVE-2026-85706Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file disclosure via repository API traversal

Published Sep 12, 2026 · Updated Sep 12, 2026

Path traversal in GitLab CE/EE 18.7 through 19.1.7, 19.2 through 19.2.5, and 19.3 through 19.3.1 allows remote attackers to read server files. The repository commits API confines paths incorrectly and fails to enforce authentication, allowing crafted requests to escape the intended repository path and return arbitrary host files. No account or user interaction is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the GitLab service; direct file modification is not established.
