Unauthenticated stored XSS via global HTML allowlist
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Stored XSS in Jegstudio Gutenverse News before 3.3.3 allows remote attackers to store JavaScript through untrusted comment content. An unrestricted wp_kses_allowed_html filter adds the plugin's relaxed HTML allowlist to every sanitization context instead of only its intended context. No account is required; the script runs when an administrator reviews the moderation queue and, after approval, when visitors view the post.
