Perl process crash via unchecked list operand
Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026
Type confusion in Paul Evans XS::Parse::Infix 0.40 through 0.49 allows attackers to crash Perl via a non-reference list operand. The generated list-associative wrapper calls SvRV() instead of SvROK() to check an operand, then treats a numeric value as a pointer to an array. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled values to such a wrapper; the resulting invalid dereference generally terminates the Perl process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
