Unauthenticated room access via unchecked Socket.IO join
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Missing authentication in Jofpin Trape 1.0.0 and 2.0 allows remote attackers to read admin Socket.IO room messages without credentials. The core/sockets.py join handler passes message['room'] directly to join_room without authenticating the connecting session or authorizing the requested room. Network access is sufficient; exploitation exposes messages sent to a guessed or learned room name but has no documented write or service-interruption effect.
