Code execution via inherited string $where operator
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Code injection in crcn Sift 17.1.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript through a crafted query. Sift enumerates query properties with for...in and passes inherited or direct string $where values to new Function when CSP_ENABLED is unset. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled queries, or a separate prototype-pollution primitive; successful execution runs with the host process privileges.
