Elevated command execution via crafted GIM bundle
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Command injection in IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands on the Central Manager. The GIM bundle importer passes attacker-controlled arguments from a crafted bundle to tar, allowing the archive-processing command to execute injected commands. Authenticated access to bundle import is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with elevated privileges on the Central Manager.
