Server crash via unchecked slot-import job name
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Valkey 9.0, 9.1.0, and 9.5.0 through 9.5.4 allows attackers to crash a cluster server via a crafted RDB file. clusterRDBLoadSlotImport accepts a variable-length job_name, and createSlotImportJob copies 40 bytes from it without first verifying that the source is 40 bytes long. The server must have cluster mode enabled and load the crafted file at startup, causing the process to abort before normal service begins.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
