IdP request manipulation via unencoded introspection tokens
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Parameter injection in Elytron in Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 8.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter IdP requests. Elytron forwards a malformed OAuth 2 introspection token without URL encoding, so attacker-controlled data becomes additional request parameters. Exposure requires a security domain backed by a token-realm with oauth2-introspection; standard IdPs reject malformed requests, preventing authentication bypass.
