CVE-2026-85505Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Service crash via short BMC response

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in GNU Project FreeIPMI before 1.6.19 allows remote attackers to crash ipmi-oem through a short Fujitsu BMC reply. ipmi_oem_fujitsu_get_sel_entry_long_text parses the undersized reply as a complete long-text record and reads beyond its stack buffer. Exposure requires ipmi-oem to request Fujitsu SEL long text from a BMC that returns the malformed reply; the reported consequence is availability loss only.
