Readonly-role bypass via unchecked monitoring proxy
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Authorization bypass in Apache SkyWalking BanyanDB 0.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to send non-read monitoring requests. Canopy's /monitoring/* handler checks authentication but omits enforceRole, forwarding the supplied HTTP method to the configured monitoring target. Exploitation requires a non-default readonly user and a reachable target; resulting operations depend on what that target accepts.
