CVE-2026-85497

Root credential recovery via fixed legacy hash

Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Weak password hashing in CareCam CM2507 Firmware v251211.1507 allows attackers to recover the root credential from stored hashes. The firmware stores the root-account password with a fixed legacy hash whose low computational cost permits offline cracking. Access to a firmware image or password database is required; recovery exposes a root credential, while cross-device reuse is not confirmed.
