Cross-site scripting via unescaped option labels
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Cross-site scripting in HTML::FormHandler before 0.410002 allows attackers to execute JavaScript through attacker-controlled option labels. The Select, RadioGroup, CheckboxGroup, and HorizCheckboxGroup widgets insert group labels without HTML encoding, and RadioGroup also inserts each button label unencoded. Exploitation requires an application to populate option lists from attacker-influenced data through options_from, an options_fieldname method, or the DBIC model, exposing rendered pages to markup override and script execution.
