Data disclosure via unauthenticated STTP publisher
Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Missing authentication in openPDC and openHistorian allows remote attackers to read publisher data through the STTP network interface. The STTP-based data publisher accepts connections and exchanges data without authenticating clients in its default configuration. Exploitation requires network reachability to the publisher; the documented consequence is data disclosure, not data modification or service interruption.
