Service hang via zero-byte transport read loop
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
An infinite loop in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings before 0.25.0 lets remote attackers hang a service by ending a transport read mid-message. The thrift_transport_real_read_all function continues while bytes remain but treats a zero-byte read as progress, repeatedly calling the underlying read without advancing. The hang requires a deployment that uses the C GLib runtime to read attacker-influenced data; the affected operation does not itself disclose or modify data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
