CVE-2026-85424Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Unauthenticated database control via protocol-only handshake

Published Sep 3, 2026 · Updated Sep 5, 2026

Missing authentication in themoos Core MOOS through 10.4.0 allows remote attackers to access MOOSDB with full client privileges. The server's CheckProtocol routine validates only a compile-time protocol string, and HandShake accepts any unique client-supplied name without verifying an identity or credential. Network access to the MOOSDB listener is sufficient to publish or subscribe to variables and invoke DB_CLEAR, which resets variables and clears queued client mail.
