Administrator account takeover via unchecked password target
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Authorization bypass in InvoicePlane before 1.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to take over another administrator account. The Users::change_password() method trusts the user_id URL segment and passes it to save_change_password() without verifying authority over the target account. Any secondary administrator can replace the primary administrator's password without the current password, gaining its data and privileges.
