File disclosure via unhardened InputSource XML parsing
Published Oct 19, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026
XXE in Apache Camel XPath allows remote attackers to read process-accessible files through crafted XML sent to an InputSource expression. XPathBuilder passes InputSource payloads directly to javax.xml.xpath, whose default parser accepts DOCTYPE declarations and resolves external entities instead of applying Camel's parser hardening. Exposure requires untrusted XML to reach an expression configured with documentType=InputSource; entity resolution also triggers requests to attacker-selected hosts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
