Service crash via unbounded RPCSEC_GSS allocation
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
Resource exhaustion in libtirpc allows remote authenticated users to crash RPC services through oversized wrapped requests. RPCSEC_GSS decoding allocates memory without a bound when processing those requests, exhausting resources and destabilizing or terminating the service. Exposure requires a reachable RPC service configured for RPCSEC_GSS integrity or privacy; affected versions and the exact decoding function are not established by the available evidence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
