Unauthenticated shortcode execution via submitted form values
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Shortcode injection in LukasApps Contact Form 7 Captcha 0.1.7 through 0.1.8 allows remote attackers to execute registered shortcodes. The plugin runs the WordPress shortcode parser over the complete rendered form, causing submitted field values to be interpreted as shortcode syntax rather than data. No authentication is required; resulting data access or changes are limited to the behavior of shortcodes registered by other installed components.
