Password disclosure via incomplete HTTP-error redaction
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
Password disclosure in Siemens SIMATIC S7 Webserver API .NET Client Library before 3.3.62 allows attackers to read passwords via error output. ApiResponseChecker.CheckHttpResponseForErrors embeds the serialized restore request in an exception because its redaction checks match login and password-change names but miss backup restore. Disclosure requires an HTTP error during restore and access to the resulting logs or diagnostic output; the exposed secret is the plaintext PLC restore password.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
