TLS server impersonation via disabled certificate verification
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Certificate validation bypass in Apache Thrift Perl bindings before 0.25.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to impersonate TLS servers. Thrift::SSLSocket sets SSL_verify_mode to SSL_VERIFY_NONE when the client has no CA file, accepting an unauthenticated server certificate. Exploitation requires a Perl client using this TLS socket without an explicitly configured CA file and an attacker able to intercept its connection.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
